Default A Little Kitbashing Fun

I'm doing a little exploratory kitbashing, and learning about Cinema 4D to boot. This one was inspired from the USS Pittsburgh model I saw at the Starship Modeling store, called the USS Pittsburgh. I used Tachyon's Miranda hull and Gene Kim-Eng's TOS Enterprise model; I haven't done anything with the textures yet because I'm just playing for the moment.

Whee, this is fun!

If you're using other peoples' models, you need to put credits on the pics. Also, some larger pics would be nice. It looks like a cool kitbash, from what I can see.

My mistake. I'll fix this ASAP.
I guess this is why so many people create their own models of the Connie, isn't it?

Thanks for taking the time to fix those.

Yeah, most of us that model TOS Trek build one or 2, so we can kitbash 'em, since most of the TOS designs use the same saucer, nacelles, etc. in various combinations. I know of some good Connie building tutorials, if you're ever interested in building your own. They're for specific programs, but most 3D programs have the same tools, they just might be called something else in one program or another.

I'd appreciate the tutorial links, Evil. I'm not sure my modelling skills are up to building my own Connie yet, but I'm slowly learning. One reason I've been doing pre-TOS ships is that I'm not really good enough to build a ship from schematics yet.

I think I remember someone doing a tut for the Connie in C4D, that's what I'll look for first. That will make your attempt easier, since it's the same software you use.

I thought so. A dude over at SFM did a tutorial shortly after scifieric did his trueSpace Enterprise tutorial.
