Pisces - an ATOLM design

ATOLM and Starship, over at SFM, have been collaborating on a 2D design for a series of dual saucer Federation designs. I have always been interested in dual saucers but have only seen one or two that I ever thought were cool. This design, by ATOLM, was a fun and clever one that I thought would be nice to model.



I had an opportunity to load and play with MAX 8 at work. So this has been done in MAX 8. I only have a few days left on the trial so I hope to have all the final details soon. I exported to 3DS and loaded into MAX 4.2 but the turbo smooth feature on my home system did not look as good until I mesh smoothed it. The test renders looked the same as these below (done in version 8) but the poly count is going to be higher for my file so I can use it later.

Wow. I've seen 2 saucer designs and I never like them and never thought I would like a 2 saucer design. Until now. Somehow, ATOLM and Starship can make anything look spiffy.

Can't say I'm much into dual saucers.

Will have to see it farther along to decide on this one though

I never had a clue about dual saucers, but you make them look great! I look forward to seeing the finished ship. And yes that Atolm has some cool ideas.
