Re: Phase II Orthos
You do know 1964 was a GREAT year, right?

Re: Phase II Orthos
Yeah, it was roundabout then that Gene Roddenberry first presented the idea for Star Trek to the studio execs. Though most of what was to be done wasn't finalized (and a lot still wasn't until mostly through the first season) 1964 is pretty much the beginning of the best show ever.
Of course, you probably just think so because you were born in 1964, right?

Re: Phase II Orthos
cool work man ..
I was just thinking (yes I was) that in your next model of trek perhaps you could add the rear of the bridge the windows as seen in this Andrew Probert concept drawing

That's all right. The other ship in the class that I did textures for is the U.S.S. Nautilus NCC-1979. 1979 was a good year also. Some good movies, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Alien, The Black Hole, to name a few. And, oh yeah, I was born in 1979.

I don't know how many Federation ships I'll be doing in the foreseeable future. I'm going to enter a challenge at 3DScifi, finish my Klingon Battlecruiser I started last year and possibly do some more alien stuff. However, the windows aren't a bad idea and I considered adding them to version 2 of the Redesigned E but then I didn't.

I never made the Enterprise name & reg for this model. It seemed superfluous since the Connie II version of the Enterprise is the one in TMP, not this model, and I was attempting to make it look as if this model fits into Canon Trek as a Connie II variant.

Textured. Definitely textured. I rarely model text anymore. I've considered making classic TOS-style textures for the ship, complete with the Enterprise name and number (just for the hell of it) but I haven't decided yet if I'm doing that.

Re: Phase II Orthos
Wow, I wish that I could create a mesh like this one day. Today I´ve tried to start the work on my first starship, but after one hour I´ve "discard my nerves" and updated some of my planets...
But I´m looking forward to begin seriously the work on the " DSS_Scharnhorst" in three or four weeks ´cause I´ve more time than as for the moment...

Re: Phase II Orthos
Of course.
But I'm a bit different in the fact I don't sting foxes... I just date them

Phase II Enterprise always catches me off guard, almost movie-prize, not quite.

Re: Phase II Orthos
Yeah, it's what Matt Jefferies came up with for a new ship and then Andrew Probert came in and put the finishing touches on it for the movie.
