Concord Mesh
Since everyone here is real cool and such and make this a kick-assed forums, here is a little gift.
Dennis worked his butt off making this ship, and is now making it available to the general public.
I ask that you post here in this thread if you DL it so he gets an idea of how many people appreciate his hard work and especially his generosity in letting you play with his mesh.

That is a beautiful meshe. I only wish there was a MAX or 3DS format. I don't have access to Lightwave to attempt a conversion. If anyone can convert it and post it in MAX or 3DS, I would be very greatful.

Do a web search for 3DWin.
it'll convert LW to 3DS rather easily.

There's nothing that will bring the texture co-ordinates across directly, so you'll have to retexture. You might try converting it to another, non-Max format with 3D Exploration, then converting it to 3DS. That's just a shot in the dark. I'm working on a conversion, but it doesn't look like it's going to be exact; either I'm not familiar enough with Max's texturing tools, or there are functions in LW that aren't paralleled in Max.

Thanks, guys. I'm really glad that people like this model so much. And thanks to Dan and anyone else who's taking the time and making the effort to do conversions to other formats.
Building it was a big learning experience for me.
In the process of learning, I did some things with a couple of the textures that may complicate figuring out conversions (I've never done a complete conversion with textures, so I dunno. If these things are obvious, just disregard). I used Lightwave's procedural checkboard texture for specularity mapping of some of the smaller surfaces, and the maps on the lower part of the bottom of the saucer are a grid mapped spherically to the surface rather than a planar map.

I'm forwarding this mesh to a modding comunity that will hopefully make a playable version for Starfleet Command (Interplay/Taldren). E-mail me if you want me to keep you informed of progress.

As I don't think it's a supersonic 'plane , I'll thank in advance as I have no idea what it is until I throw it, sorry, coax it gently into Bryce or trueSpace. Cheers.
