Default Networking problem: Help Requested :)

Ok, here's the problem:

At home, I run a peer to peer network using MS Windows SE for the network and Internet Connection sharing. One of my computers, an old Gateway 200 mHz has been screwed up by my little brother in some way or another so that the network logon for the computer is screwed up completly. On it, I cannot browse the network, but it can still access networked drives. It is the only computer that shows up in the network neighborhood. And the network card is working just fine.

Help, suggestions, anything welcomed.

BTW, I have already reinstalled all the hardware and software for the network and even windows. I can reformat, but it is a last resort as an 80 GB hard drive is a PITA to back up.

I wish the little kid would stop installing so many programs.

ok.. I take it you completely removed the network drivers then rebooted?
then readded them? not just readded them over the top of the existing ones.....?

Yes, we removed them first.

Turns out he installed a firewall then uninstalled it correctly. We will have to reformat anyway.
