Nice work - the shading, especially in her face, is very well done.

If I may make a suggestion - I've done a lot of work in MS Paint lately, making logos for football teams, not to mention various web-site avatars, and I've found that if you start with a very large image (I use a blank image about 2000 x 2000 pixels) then reduce the size with another graphics program when you're finished, you can get a much smoother-looking picture. You could use a freeware program called IrfanView to do the size reduction - it's got some brilliant re-sizing capabilities.

That's the point of me working with ms paint I don't want the smoother stuff.

I've only the hair to go of a great image though
(I've redone what I thought my best work of all times and it got even better) so maybe next month you'll see it

btw hellcats is funny and the logo fits!

GIMP is another free painting program someone here directed me to. But what you are doing with MSP is great.

You do realise, GP, that you shouldn't be doing logos in stuff like Paint, right? Especially not if it's something that's going to be used other places than the web.

Well, if I could afford Illustrator or another vector-graphics program right now, I'd buy one.

However, Paint is accomplishing what I want it to, at least for now. Besides, it's the only thing I have that will easily allow me to edit one pixel at a time, which comes in handy more often than you might think.

If you're a student you can get Illustrator for 99 bucks, check ebay too...and there are other places to get it for cheaper, :cough:

Exactly.

When you resize an image, especially if you make it smaller, the graphics program can wreak havoc on thin outlines or small areas of color. The ability to go in and tweak a few pixels here and there can be invaluable.

if you want a free vector program.. try Openoffice... it has a vector program in it...

a free office suite.. reads M$ formats and includes a half decent vector program.. I use to convert scanned curves into EPS format for import in trueSpace

a quick search on Yahoo will point you at it...

I've messed with GIMP a little - didn't care for the interface much, and the version I was using seemed a bit buggy.

Photoshop 6 was a horrible upgrade. Photoshop 7 is better. Though its getting waaaay too complicated. Its starting to be as bad as painter! I miss photoshop 4.

Gimp I thought was hard to use. But its free.

Liz, your drawing is primitive, but it shows real style. The medium sucks, but you showed alot of talent. I agree, I would love to see you on a more powerful program.

And btw- Long hair is better. Your passport photo looks very hi-class model-ish!
